What's Next; Evolve or Extinct.

The temperature of our planet is rising and every is aware of this. Now it is looking like this rise in temperature will surpass the threshold value. At that point there will be no possible option for us to control this. Currently every one called this phenomena as anthropogenic and mentioning that due to deforestation and industrialization all these thing are happening to us. But if we go down the track in deep history of geological time, we will find that there are more then dozens of events where this planet passes through condition similar to this. Five time in the deep earth history, condition reaches to such a extreme that almost all living thing on the surface of the earth died. Geologically these events are termed as Mass extinction. Each event has its own reason which is not anthropogenic but natural. And there is a legacy with each event that it bring either evolve the remaining specie or bring some new specie. 
Currently the problem we are facing is the rising of average temperature. This rising of temperature is called as "Global Warming".  The main reason of this problem is rising concentration of CO2 in our atmosphere. We have a similar example of temperature in geologically past when the average temperature of earth rapidly increases about 8 degree. This event occur in Paleocene-Eocene time (53 million year ago) when earth temperature rises rapidly. This event is called as Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maxima (PETM). This dramatic warm condition was last for almost 20,000  years and then came to normal. 
The study of PETM is very important as it has many similarity with current temperature rise on our earth. And so we can predict the up coming effect of this temperature rise on our earth. During PETM a number of specie died and extinct from biosphere. And some new specie are evolved. 
In that regard, currently if we did not control the global warming we will reach to a point of no return. At that point we will have two option i.e Evolve or Extinct. The most probable option is evolution. Usually at each mass extinction boundary, the specie evolved, had survived. So now if temperature is rising and rising continuously, the genetically heat resistant persons will survive. These survivor will be coupled another survivor and this will lead to more resistant off spring to fight rising temperature. But this will help in case of slight rise in temperature. If temperature rises more then expected then only one thing can save this specie that scientist introduce genetically engineered human specie who can resistant more heat. If not the specie named Homosapien will be extinct permanently.
